Amanda has the perfect personality to teach couples to dance. She is not only skilled in the art of dance, but she is patient with a great sense of humor turning what could be a stressful situation into something to laugh through. On our wedding day everything she taught us came together and we danced without missing a step. I would highly recommend her to anyone, especially couples apprehensive about their first dance on their big day.

Amanda at Dance Because is truly amazing! We spent almost 4 wonderful months taking lessons with Amanda. We probably didn't need as many lessons as we took, but we had so much fun dancing that we wanted to take as many lessons as we could fit into our schedule. Amanda was so accomodating with our time frame (we could only take lessons after 8pm). She makes learning how to dance so easy and fun! My husband and I had taken 1 lesson at another dance studio and I thought he was a lost cause. After only 1 lesson with Amanda, he had improved so much and he was the one who insisted we take more lessons with her. We cannot say enough great things about Amanda, we absolutely 100% would recommend her to anyone looking to take dance lesson!

We absolutely give Amanda 5 stars!!! She was so professional and learning our wedding dance was one of the best parts of our wedding planning. She made everything so much fun and really made it so easy to learn real ballroom dance moves! We loved her philosophy of we are not "renting the dance moves just for the day of the wedding" but she wanted us to be able to "own them the rest of our lives". and this is so true...we could absolutely go to any wedding or event now and foxtrot or cha-cha the rest of our lives. I would HIGHLY recommend her services....we had a blast and are so glad we met her!

Our favorite wedding planning memory is for sure our dance lessons. We took lessons for our first dance from Amanda for several weeks before the wedding. We looked forward to our lessons each week - we had so much fun and lots of laughs. She is not only a talented teacher but a truly wonderful person. She was able to teach us (nondancers) in a few weeks an unforgettable first dance. She is genuinely invested in her students and went above and beyond what we expected to get out of dance lessons. I would highly recommend Amanda/Dance Because.

Dance Because is a great place to have some fun and enjoy yourself learning to dance. Amanda, the instructor, is terrific. She takes the time with you and really shows you the steps in an easy to learn manner. We had her choreograph a dance for us to learn at our wedding, the dance is perfect for our song and she has done a great job with us. We have truly had a great time and so much fun, we are going to take lessons with her again after the wedding. Very highly recommend Dance Because. We love it and so will you.

Amanda of Dance Because is an excellent teacher! She is very down-to-earth and understands that students have different dance abilities. She is patient and very upbeat! Her enthusiasm is contagious, and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful and fun wedding prep experience this has been! My fiancé was very hesitant to take dance lessons, but we are having a blast and what a way to relax, calm nerves and have fun together before the big day!!! I highly recommend Dance Because!!!

Tips to get you started:

Don't wait until the last moment to begin dance lessons.
Start as early as 3-6 months in advance.  You don't have to be perfect on the dance floor,
but you do want to be comfortable and look great in the photos and videos later!

You don't have to dance a traditional waltz (unless you want to).
Many dances are available to bring out your personal style. I can teach you to dance a slow, beautiful waltz or you can speed things up with a fun hustle or a cool swing (like Daisy & Michael in the video below:)


It's your first dance, so dance what you want to dance.

Dancing may relieve your stress.
Not only will you feel more confident about your moment on the dance floor, but you will also be getting exercise in those stressful months leading up to your big day.  And don't forget, spending much-needed quality time together.

Don't worry if you don't have a song.
It's ok if you don't know what music you want to dance to.   I am here to help. 
I can give you ideas, then teach you to dance accordingly to what style fits you best.

I can help you with these dances as well so that they are not a stressful event, but a memorable and sweet way for your parents to steal a few moments alone with their son or daughter!  In just one or two lessons I can have you feeling more confident and comfortable with each other as you prepare to dance in front of your family and friends!

Not every bride and groom decide to get their parents involved in dancing, but the ones that do feel better and more prepared about the parent dances!  Sometimes this is just a great gift of time to spend some quality time with your parents before the big day so that you can let them know they are important, meanwhile you are creating a memorable experience for the both of you.
